Dinner talk

Photo credited to www.flickr.com/photos/14304964@N05/4242875458/

Today I got mood to cook...dinner. It was a working day as usual so cooking can be a tiring activity after that. Well, I gueess the reason why I had the mood was because I wanted to prove myself of using the kitchen & wok for at least 3x per week. Don't wanna lose my cooking skills.

So I got everything transferred from the freezer to the refridgerator before going to work. N left office an hour earlier than usual about 6pm.

I was fascinated to see the food I prepared in the end. That time, it was already 740pm.

.......................................................
.......................

Let's see what was on the dining table tonight.
......................
.....................................................

First, I cooked some luncheon meat slices coated with a beaten egg. Had fun coating and tossing the slices. Heehe.

Then, throwed some raw n soaked vegetable into the already hot wok. Of course, I did not missed the finely chopped garlic before that. The more garlic, the better.l;-)

My 3rd dish was tomato based chicken. Somehow I love cooking that dish and always find it in most of my dish list. Like the blend of tomato paste in the sauce when it's slightly mashed up. I also make sure that the chicken masuk rasa. Both my cousin n bf ate it before n loved it too.

N before the wok was put to rest for the night, I heated up a big piece of otak-otak. My sis in law bought 2 packets from Muar when she visited her hometown few days back. She was there from evening to night. Lucky to still get some otak-otak stock at night. Lol. There is 1 piece left in the freezer. Will eat it when got craving again-)

There goes my 4 dishes. N I am waiting for David to return from office to finish up his share.

Regards,
KimoraIvy

The move

Today i feel broke again. Cuz thinking about paying back the firm its bond money again made my heart broken. Dnno if my move is right, when i think n think n rethink... Sigh.

Without the move, I won't have the.. headache. But whatever troubling me to move on will continue to stick to my head.

With the move, I gotta deal with money issue. Wont receive bonus mid year lagi... no extra income in that sense. Aisehhh... lagi heart broken. Cuz can't do any big purchase. Oh noesss...

Anyways, i should leave that short term loss aside and i should be looking at the brighter side of the thick... wall. My friend once posted, at a period after her move, that the grass is greener on the other side. Hmm... i shall ponder on her words this week. u can just interprete it a hundred ways.

But in the end, the important factor is, does the move do you good, better, or worse?!

Actually, seriously, n to explain in the simpler n plain way, no one could tell... until you make the... move and feel results of the move for yourself overtime.

The phrase "only time can tell" is so appropriate for my situation right now.

I chose to use this motto in life and made the move.

So, whatever you have in your head right now, be brave to make the change if it's for the better, enjoy the change and move onnnnnn...! ;-)

Ache

Yesterday was my last day of leave before I return to the desk place at office after a good looong break for Xmas and New Year. Hmm, I wonder if Kakak has spring cleaned our desk for us during New Year. If yes, surely our documents go haywired again (last year, I almost thought I lost my document after searching for few days, then I found it at the area where I plan to throw the unwanted papers! Sigh... Cannot claim for OT time for searching high n low for the docs also. Bigger sighhh...)

Anyways, let;s forget about office stories first. So it was my precious few more hours before I headed to bed. And I was hoping of doing something beneficial that afternoon. Can't be waiting whole afternoon for Tw at condo doing nothing, right? And wah... , suddenly I felt so bersemangat. So drove home to condo fast-fast, changed to my lightest shirt and shorts and headed right to the gym session yesterday. No wait, did some house sweeping before that... otherwise, I'd feel more guilty cuz I didn't sweep for weeks/months... ;-/.

Then I found out the nearest block B treadmill has been spoilt for like ages. So irritated. Owners pay maintenance fee also dunno for what use... besides having new touch up paintings on the condo walls. Because of that, I went from block C to B then to A to find my old 'friend'. The one and only treadmill to be shared by over hundreds of residents. And so the 'precious' treadmill I named it. Walk for almost 5mins. Ok good. No need to warm up already.

Registered only then I found out there was someone else earlier & more bersemangat than me, happily using my precious treadmill. Wth. Nvm. Give face. So while waiting, did some cycling stroke side weight pushings (or any better name u can call it;P). Panting but wth, still need to wait for my treadmill. If not look stupid in front of the guy. Give face again ;-p. So continued cycling till I forgot time.

When he stopped the treadmill speed, which I continue to forget the time on how long I waited for the precious treadmill, he indicated to pass to me the treadmill. Finally. But I think I didnt forget something. That I smiled less friend-lish to him than I normally do to others. Cuz cycled and weight pushed too much while waiting for him till I was tired already. Hu huu... I think I spent the most time in that day's gym session. Not on exercising but waiting for my turn on the precious treadmill. Huhuu... .

My stamina was low @ beginning. So low that I felt like stopping at 2.5mins of running. Wth. So I made a deal with myself. If do treadmill above previous record of 10min, I will get what I wanna do later that night. N guess what, I did 10(+1min) and had my supper @ mamak that night itself! Wah, that means, gone larh all my running effort that afternoon... .

Nevermind, next round do more runnings. Today woke up to work, both left, right muscle thighs felt painful. Hand muscles also ached. And the pain still stays till now. Sigh. But at least I got the chance to use the precious treadmill. For all the energy in me to gym, it finally had a start, and the progress is still miles away... . Wah, can't believe I wrote such a long story out of gyming! ;-D

Ps. Oh, and before I forget, Happy New Tiger Year, people (I hope I got the Tiger Year correct)! And watch out for Chinese New Year soon... !

Feeling a bit better compared to yesterday.
All of sudden it's a beautiful...... day. A beautiful saturday. A beautiful weekend.
Wu huu...
Feeling like being outside. Meeting with friends. Catching some movie together and catching up with our lives @ work, with bosses, with bfs, with stories of others. To share. To laugh. To have fun together.
Where are you all........?
Joyce suggested for a squash session today, though.
Great idea. Been a long...... time since I last touch the racquet.
Joyce said she is not too good friend with the court and the racquet.
Maybe I can be the one counter attacking all her ball shots?
Wah, that will make me damn happy.............

Last Thursday, I took leave to clear my leaves.
Had a bowling session with Alicia.
Finally quite grasp the way of throwing the ball to hit the pin.
And getting hooked to bowling.
The feeling of getting strikes behind your head before throwing the bowling ball feels so good.
Still working hard to play better. To score better.
Afterall that is what bowling all about, right?;0)

Last weekend had a great reunion with Mum's siblings and families at Renaissance, Melaka for Kean's wedding.
This Sunday is the guy's side for wedding tea ceremony and dinner.
Someone close to me is getting married. Close to the bride. Close to the siblings of the bride. Close to the parents of the bride. They watched me and my siblings grow from immatured kids to grown up young adults.
Don't know why but I feel excited a bit someone is getting married.
The white gown. The perfect makeup. The modelling alike photo album manufactured from the studio. The attention you will get. The food. So fun, right?
But of course lots of money involved to make it the perfect night. But yet, that shows that your family and your hubby loves you & acknowledged that you are the important person in his life, important enough to spend so much on you on the great night........

Would be eatin breakfast soon. So that's all for now, guys. . HUNGRYYYY!

It's just how I feel right now

I had a whole duck for dinner tonight. Quite thrilled with the dinner idea though I'm not big fan of duck. We called over my bro & tw's sis to finish up the duck. We had a good laugh at tw chopping the duck into pieces. Not easy. Even our professional auditor here said it was hard.

I missed every sports I could play for the past 2 weeks. No, more like 0.5 year...; missed jogging, missed squash, missed swimming. Donno why I could spent time on all other things but no time for an exercise. I know that I'm totally in trouble & I feel guilty about my misbehaviour to my body.

I've been skipping movies at cinema too. Maybe there wasn't any movie that catched my attention until Surrogates came into picture. Pretty interesting. Definitely worth while for a movie like this accompanied with a popcorn treat for my stomach on a Friday midnight.

I've been quite concerned about the tremor some of my colleagues felt in office the day Sumatera was hit with earthquake. Was working with the others at the same floor but mayb I was at the middle of the office space instead of the side. Wondering if residing in our country is still safe. Someone please reassure me on this.

Lastly, I just feel like dancing along with some Colby Caillat songs with my toes lifted slightly up on the air....................................................;0)

Some sweet and bitter flavours of me

Life can be full with such big ups and downs like a yo-yo string's swings.

Even more when I'm reaching another year older soon to complete a full year of huha-s in my life.

I guess there are some that I could be nice enough tonight to spill and share some with you guys;).

Here are some that I wanna store for long vs some that I wish to let go & forget:

Experience I wish to let go & forget:

<1> Worry too much about what's next after this - in studies, work and life;

<2> Missed the hangouts with my friends for meals/yamchas couple of times till they have perceptions that I don't take calories-hahaa;

<3> Not spending enough time inhaling the life and culture and friends in UK especially when da jie flew over & could spend some weeks in Birmingham & my childhood friend just arrived to UK from Msia;

<4> Budgeting from small items to big items. Can be devastating if u can't buy sth u really like cuz u overspent in other things; and

<5> Can't get my old friends out to catch up with our lives - we are too busy earning money to buy what we dream of having till we take friendship for granted & let go undervalued friendship.

Wonderful experience I wish to cherish for a long time:

<1> More open & receiptive to all sorts of comments & wider range of people I meet along my path of life;

<2> Getting the grasp of working life and better in managing bosses & lucky to meet great colleagues that stayed up just as late after work hrs;

<3> Completed my professional qualification successfully in Aug 09. That means, exited from late night classes after work hours on weekdays (3x a week) and full day on Sundays (2x per mth) and exam pressure (1/2yr once ) for time being;

<4> Long breaks during weekends or festive season so I could catch up with family, friends and myself; and

<5> Contented in life at times when it's supposed to be and feel alert when things don't go right.

A surprise for me

Before TW came back from outstation, i texted 'im to say, "We have not been dating for a while. We need to do something nice when u return."

And we did. TW said he was gonna give a surprise to us.

"All you need is to just dress your best".

Good. Surprises are nice and boosts your happy hormones level once a while.

So much of dressing my best, I think I slighlty over-dressed. The only hint I got from him was to wear socks. Bowling? Must be already. We haven't been bowling lately and he has been complaining bout it. Cuz he can... bowl, n he must hv missed putting those pins Down... brr.

Wrong guess, guys. And I only got to guess the surprise correctly when we were on our way to the place. Who will guess that it would be Ice Skating...?! GREAT.

1st, I got the pants part right but I wore a less thick clothing for a cold place today. 2nd, my period is not fully over lar-h. 3rd, it's an old game of ours since 2-3yrs ago!

I tried negotiating wif him, Let's go shopping lar-h, I need a new office skirt. My idea was not working. Let's play bowling instead of a challenging game like skating lar-h. Plus, only so few skater-s. Not working either. Fine. Ice skating, as planned.

I skate badly. Could barely move to the other end. He, as usual, glide his way on the ice without much effort. Damn. What happened to my skills previously when I could glide all I want, without panicking on how to stop/ fall?

My fear level in me got less, until the next 0.5hr, when I wanted to slow down and bam, I collided onto him, and got my 1st fall. Buuu... at me. Was like a helpless baby when I wanted to lift myself up again. Buuu... at me for the 2nd time on that.

On the 2nd session, I felt my left ankle hurt a bit. Until not long later, it came to a point that every hit of my left leg on the ice, there was a continuos sharp pain on my ankle.

"Let's take a break", TW says.

"Yeah, I need that."

Cuz every move was an unavoidable pain. I checked and only to notice, I got my ankle blistered. GREAT. Now I counldn't even skate for the day. Bad bad bad.

I ended up observing TW skating from the outer rest area. Luckily all that happened after I got to skate a while, like for an hour.

At least I go against my fear to skate after 2 yrs, and glide as much as I could. I hope my next glide would be a better one.

some news about me...

What have I been doing since I last blog on june 3?
Let's see...Exam was a week after june 3, so the first week of June was basically study sessions.

It was a good break, to be away from office and to have a few days stay at hometown with parents. Not forgetting little brother's good drive treat back to Mlk. The worst traffic I experienced so far in NS highway! With only 1 small bao for brunch and empty stomach for the next 5hrs, *sigh. But lil bro sure did have a good plan to speed up our journey. Hee...

After exam, I had a great relief. But it was a quick 1 week study break, then back to work life- 5 days of working and 2 days of destress days.

Somewhere along mid of June, tw and I did a short trip to Taiping during the weekend. Damn it was so relaxing... Just staying on the clear road with awesome view of Lake Garden and all the short snacks we had was a good weekend treat already...Definitely looking more for short trips.

Last weekend, I was in Melaka to see my parents. I also wanted to catch up with 2 other long lost in touch friends, Joanne and Kian Min. I had a good women's talk with Joanne, but I missed the meeting with Kian Min. He was up in KL it seems...sorry I still din't quite catch you through the phone on why you need to follow ur dad up to KL when I was in Melaka wo...!

Looking forward for more meetings with my high school, college, and university friends. Just last night, I got an invitation to a bachelor's session for a college friend of ours who will be leaving for Australia to the arms of his dearest to-be-wife somewhere in a prosperous new year next Jan 2010! Cheers to you, Paul~!

Now I'm in the mood for an ice cream session...=) PP signing out.

An art for sale - A quick buying decision

Few Sunday's ago, I happen to be wondering around in an art gallery which have arts (doink, what else can an art gallery sell?!) for sale.

Saw few arts, my favourites were the paintings of someone pouring red wine into his wine glass, the buddha... and my top favourite was the horse painting. Chinese loves horse (ma-in chinese). To me, the horses in the painting were so energetic and lively.... somehow the horses are running in a single focused direction. Ready to charge.

I wanted to buy it for home. I asked for the price, as usual paintings can be very expensive. I bargain till the salesperson said, "RM200 for the painting. With frame, I give u RM300." I asked if there's any more good price, he said he can't offer anymore lower, as his boss was not around. Made me wonder if it was intentional if the boss left his assistant alone in the shop.

So i did a quick move. I asked for the business card, and said I will call back by that day.

I texted dad initially if he's interested. But dad has something else in his mind. Said not to buy. Felt so sad... That painting was superb. Artistic. Amazing. Full of wows when I first glanced @ it, and dad said he's not interested. But nvm. I let go with the purchase, even though I would mention about the painting during some dinners. Heee...

Come to think of it, I have not returned the call to the art gallery salesperson till today. Let's just assume the painting is sold. That makes me feel much better...! >.<

Exam results is out...

The days when I burnt the midnight oil for exams...

Exam results was out just yesterday.
I did it once more! Yes! If you only know how joyful I was.

Passing up to this stage means no more extra weeks to revise the old paper, no need of applying annual leaves for revision period, and most importantly, I can move forward closer to wearing my 2nd graduation hat. hee...
Thanks to mum & dad for the support in terms of financial, good meals, good sleep & comfy drive to exam centre.

Ps. Congrats to those who passed theirs too...

Morning gym

This morning, tw parents asked me if i wanna join her @ the gym at 10am. I was a little reluctant. FYI, I last did some squash and swimming last year (eyeballs rolling like yours now).

But i confidently said, Yes. In fact, I was in the mood of going.

Almost 10.45am, tw, tw's mum and I got down to the gym room. Phak, both of my hands placed right @ the 1st gym equipment, i think it's to build up my triceps and my back.

I must admit, it was H.a.r.d. I tried all the equipments, except 1 cuz it was malfunction, just like my stamina @ that time.

Light, moderate and vigorous types of sports. What stage are u at now?

The hardest was to run on the treadmill. Tw's mum said if your heartbeat stays at 70-80 heartbeat rate per minute, then it's ideal. My heartbeat was going at 90, then 101, then 120, then 140!

Goodness gracious. I was worried when it reached 140-150. For once, when the number goes higher, it's nearer to danger.

I stopped jogging on the treadmill @ the 7th minute. I couldn't even reach for 10. My head was already spinning, and I was pale. I quickly sat down. Damn. I felt weak for my age. Tw mum did threefold of my time.

I plan to go further next round. 7 to 10. 10 to 20. 20 to 30.

And if I did it one day, I will let you know in my next blog(>.<).

Lurve, K.ivy.leong

Relax-ed 2nd Sunday of Feb09

------- U look handsome lah-tat night.. ------ Fried stuff was my fave that night ------ "Dear, you want flowers? Or I buy you the teddy.." -------

This weekend we had a last minute surprise.
After late work hrs, tw picked me up from office/
and told me his parents are here for Valentine's.
Damn, i was shocked.
Gotta go through 3 1/2 hr journey for a celebration?
Yet i was not entirely frozen to hear the news/
cuz they had been doing amazing things @ amazingly short time/
that they had.

Tw parents came late yesterday evening/
when they called to inform they r reaching tw place/
while we were waiting for our secret recipe's food outside/
Wrong timing for us to leave home.
We met a short while later/
to find his mum brought us lots & lots of CNY titbits & food.
Heard tw sis is joining us on Sun night/
So his mum cooked her signature dishes for her beloved children.
I was there to savour some.

Tw parents and tw and i had an overflowed amount of grilled fish, flaming cheesy prawns,/
fried chips, butter & garlic rice and corn soup & fried squid as appetisers/
funnily we received our appetiser later than our main meal.
We had choco ice cream with sweet cookies @ the bottom for dessert.
The place were packed with couples, and single ones in groups too.
We eat until we just hv to quietly burped to not create attention.
We snapped photos until my camera stopped me from taking anymore pictures.
We hang out the Curve until the guards closed the place.

Today, we met up with Aunt Jenny & Uncle Peter for a short lunch/
at tasty lou shi fan & German's knuckles.
But we need to return tw home to collect the half-done food back to Uncle Peter's place.
Yes, we decided to have a pot luck session tonight.
Damn, tw and i were so full for 2 nights in a row this weekend.
Yet, there were still leftover prawns to be kept for tmr's dinner.
Aw, my stomach is so blessed with delicious food.
Lou sang, chicken curry & rendang style, soup, abalone in vege.
I wonder when will the next food fiesta be.

Another Valentine's has passed.
Another great celebration is over.
Still i'm looking for more to come.

The one-day cupid,
Kimora ivy leong
